About Kathleen Boyd
About myself:

I received my BA in psychology from Sonoma State  in 1987. After graduation I worked with children and then teens in residential treatment centers. I worked at an adult residential crisis program while getting my MA in counseling psychology and through my internships.

I was licensed as an MFT in 1999 and  worked for Napa County Mental Health, first with adults and then in a wraparound program designed to keep children and teens out of residential treatment centers.  I left Napa  County Mental Health after 8 years and started my own private practice in 2006, working with children, teens and adults.

As one can imagine, I have extensive experience helping people who have experienced the  painful symptoms of Depression, Anxiety, Personality Disorders, ADHD and PTSD. I also have a wealth of experience in working with people in transition and those experiencing work and relational problems.

I don't have a great deal of experience in  providing couples therapy. I also don't have much experience in working with those whose primary issue is substance related. I can provide referrals to therapists who are skilled in these areas.
